Kratom. One supplies wholesale kratom to Michigan businesses, shipped direct from US manufacturers, subject to the status of HB 5537. Michigan has no kratom statute today, but a ban bill passed the House and sits in the Senate. We review each Michigan ship-to address and the bill timing before we quote, and we sell to 21 and over only.
Last verified . Next review: December 1, 2026. General information, not legal advice. Wholesale to businesses only.
Short answer
Yes, for now. Michigan has no kratom law, so there is no state age limit, 7-OH cap, label rule or license. HB 5537 would ban production and sale: it passed the House 56-48 on March 18, 2026 and dies if the Senate does not act by December 31, 2026. Kratom. One quotes six formats, may hold Michigan orders if the bill moves, and checks each address.
Michigan at a glance
The short version of what applies to a Michigan order. Full rules are on our Michigan law page.
Formats we quote for Michigan
No Michigan law limits a format today. The risk is the pending ban, which as reported would reach every format below.
Leaf powder for Michigan buyers
Leaf powder is lawful to quote today because no Michigan statute is in force. HB 5537 as reported would cover any part of the plant, so powder is not exempt if the bill passes.

Red Maeng Da

Green Maeng Da

White Maeng Da

Red Bali

Green Malay

White Borneo
Crushed leaf for Michigan buyers
Crushed leaf is in the same position as powder: no rule now, and no exemption if the ban passes as described in news reports.

Crushed Kratom Leaf
Capsules for Michigan buyers
Capsules have no Michigan-specific rule today. Reports on HB 5537 describe a ban on products containing any part of the plant, which would reach capsules.

Red Vein Capsules

Green Vein Capsules

White Vein Capsules
Extracts for Michigan buyers
News reports say HB 5537 names extracts and derivatives. For now we quote extracts only against a lot report and never ship concentrated or isolated 7-OH products.

Kratom Extract Powder

Liquid Kratom Extract

Mitragynine Extract

High Purity Mitragynine
Gummies for Michigan buyers
General misbranding law applies to edibles in Michigan, and the pending ban would not exempt them. Confirm the label and your food licensing with Michigan counsel.

Mixed Berry Gummies

Tropical Gummies

Watermelon Gummies
Shots for Michigan buyers
Liquids have no Michigan-specific rule today and would be covered by the same reported ban. Keep orders small enough that a sudden change would not strand stock.

Original Shots

Citrus Shots

Berry Shots

Michigan order checklist
Five things to settle before you place a Michigan order, in the order they usually come up.
Read the bill clock
HB 5537 dies if the Senate does not pass it by December 31, 2026. Until then, treat every Michigan order as exposed to a sudden change and ask us where the bill stands before you commit.
Size orders for a stop
The House gave the bill immediate effect, and it is not confirmed whether the Senate would. If a signed ban applied on signing, stock on your shelf could become unlawful quickly, so avoid large forward orders.
Check the city ordinance
St. Clair Shores bars sales to anyone under 21, and other southeast Michigan communities were reported to be weighing rules without being named. Send every delivery address.
Set a 21 counter policy
Michigan has no state age. Using 21 meets the strictest rule we found, which is the St. Clair Shores ordinance, and it matches our own 21 and over rule.
Keep a lot report for each product
No state testing rule exists, but a report showing mitragynine and 7-OH is the basic record of what you stocked if the law changes or a city asks.
Michigan compliance points for buyers
No state law yet, but a bill is live
HB 5537 would add a Penal Code section banning production and sale of kratom. It passed the House 56-48 on March 18, 2026 with immediate effect and has been in Senate Government Operations since March 24. It dies if the Senate does not pass it by December 31, 2026.
Why we stage Michigan orders
If a ban were signed with immediate effect, products in transit or on your shelf could become unlawful quickly. We review timing with you before quoting and may hold a Michigan order if the bill moves.
Local age rules exist
St. Clair Shores adopted an ordinance on April 20, 2026 barring sale to anyone under 21. Other southeast Michigan communities were reported to be weighing rules, but none were named. Our 21 and over policy meets the strictest rule we found.
Federal derivatives
Mitragynine pseudoindoxyl, MGM-15 and MGM-16 have been federal Schedule I since August 26, 2026, and DEA published a notice of intent on 7-OH on October 14, 2026. We do not supply scheduled derivatives to Michigan.
Labels and records for Michigan
What the statute asks for on a package, and the records that let you stand behind it.
No Michigan kratom label rule
Michigan has no kratom-specific label rule, and general misbranding law applies. Use accurate names, quantities and ingredient statements, and avoid claims about effects on the body.
A record you can use in a wind-down
If the ban becomes law you may need to account for stock by lot and date. Keep invoices, lot reports and delivery dates together so inventory can be documented quickly.
What changed and what to watch
- March 18, 2026
The Michigan House adopted substitute H-1 and passed HB 5537 56-48 with immediate effect.
- April 20, 2026
St. Clair Shores adopted an ordinance 6-0 barring kratom sales to, and purchase or possession by, anyone under 21.
- October 14, 2026
DEA published a notice of intent on 7-OH and mitragynine pseudoindoxyl. An order cannot issue before about November 13, 2026.
- December 31, 2026
The 2025-2026 session ends. HB 5537 dies if the Senate has not passed it by then.
Local rules inside Michigan
St. Clair Shores. Ordinance adopted 6-0 on April 20, 2026. Sale to anyone under 21 is a misdemeanor, enforced by city police. Fine amounts were not confirmed.
Other southeast Michigan communities. Local reporting says some are weighing kratom rules but did not name them. No outright city ban was confirmed, so give us each ship-to address.
Michigan compared with nearby states
Ohio
A narrower product rule: natural leaf only, so we quote leaf and powder there and not extracts, gummies or shots.
Minnesota
A settled state rule instead of a pending ban: age 21 since August 1, 2026, with no label, testing or 7-OH rule.
Illinois
State law covers minors only (18), with no ban bill moving; some Illinois cities target 7-OH instead.
Bulk kratom in Michigan FAQ
Does Kratom. One ship wholesale kratom to Michigan?
Yes, to business buyers, subject to the status of HB 5537. Orders ship direct from US manufacturers after we review the Michigan ship-to address.
Is kratom legal to sell in Michigan?
Yes, for now. Michigan has no state kratom law as of October 2026. A ban bill, HB 5537, has passed the House but not the Senate.
Which kratom formats can a Michigan store order?
We quote leaf powder, crushed leaf, capsules, extracts, gummies and shots. No Michigan law limits a format today, but the pending ban as reported would cover all of them.
Will Michigan ban kratom?
It might. HB 5537 passed the House on March 18, 2026 and is in the Senate. It dies if not passed by December 31, 2026. We update the page and stop quoting if it becomes law.
Does a Michigan retailer need lab reports or a license?
Michigan requires neither today. A lot report is still the practical way to show what a product contains, and we can provide the report for your lot.
Why does Kratom. One use 21 when Michigan has no age?
The state sets none, though St. Clair Shores uses 21. We sell to adults 21 and over only, which keeps one rule across every state we serve.
What happens to a Michigan order if the ban passes?
We cannot confirm the bill's final text or timing, since the H-1 text was not reviewed. That is why we check bill status before quoting and may hold an order if it moves. Ask counsel about stock already on your shelf.
