Kratom. One supplies wholesale kratom to Illinois businesses, shipped direct from US manufacturers. The Kratom Control Act is the only state law and it covers sales to minors, so the rules that matter most come from city codes and federal action on 7-OH. We review every Illinois ship-to address before we quote.

Short answer
Yes. Kratom is legal for adults in Illinois, and the Kratom Control Act (720 ILCS 642) bars sales to anyone under 18. The state sets no 7-OH cap, label rule, testing rule or license, but some towns have moved against 7-OH. Kratom. One quotes all six formats to Illinois businesses, sells at 21 and over only, and checks the town for each address.
Illinois at a glance
The short version of what applies to an Illinois order. Full rules are on our Illinois law page.
Formats we quote for Illinois
Illinois law sets no format limits, so the differences between formats come down to local codes and how much documentation you keep.
Leaf powder for Illinois buyers
Leaf powder is the simplest line to stock in Illinois, since state law sets no product standard. Ask for the lot report anyway, because a city inspector may want to see it.

Green Maeng Da

White Maeng Da

Red Bali

Green Malay

White Borneo
Crushed leaf for Illinois buyers
Crushed leaf follows the same rules as powder. The Kratom Control Act has no format limits, so the open question for a given store is its own town code.

Crushed Kratom Leaf
Capsules for Illinois buyers
Capsules carry no separate state rule. Retailers in towns that are looking at 7-OH tend to want a lot report on file for each capsule SKU.

Red Vein Capsules

Green Vein Capsules

White Vein Capsules
Extracts for Illinois buyers
This is the group most exposed to local 7-OH action in Illinois. We quote extracts only against a lot report, and we do not ship concentrated or isolated 7-OH products into the state.

Kratom Extract Powder

Liquid Kratom Extract

Mitragynine Extract

High Purity Mitragynine
Gummies for Illinois buyers
Illinois has no kratom-specific edible rule. General food law still applies, so confirm the label and your local food licensing before stocking gummies.

Mixed Berry Gummies

Tropical Gummies

Watermelon Gummies
Shots for Illinois buyers
Liquid shots have no special state rule either. Check the town code for your address, and keep the lot report with the invoice.

Illinois order checklist
Five things to settle before you place a Illinois order, in the order they usually come up.
Look up the town before the state
Illinois home rule towns can regulate on their own. Send every delivery address, and check the local code yourself for Rockford, Winnetka and Monticello, where 7-OH action was reported.
Gate counter sales at 18, plan for 21
The Kratom Control Act sets 18 for sales, sampling and furnishing. Two House bills would raise it to 21, so building a 21 gate now avoids retraining later. Our own sales are 21 and over.
Decide how you handle 7-OH
Several towns have gone after 7-OH products, and extracts are the exposed group. Keep concentrated or isolated 7-OH products out of the order and file the lot report for any extract you do take.
Ask about local business licenses
No kratom license exists statewide, but local business licenses may apply. Confirm with your village or city clerk, since which license fits a given site was not settled in the sources we reviewed.
Watch the lame-duck calendar
HB 1303 and HB 4737 sit in the House Rules Committee, and the 104th General Assembly runs to early January 2027. Ask us to recheck Illinois before you commit to a long stock plan.
Illinois compliance points for buyers
A minors-only state law
The Kratom Control Act (720 ILCS 642) bars knowingly selling or furnishing kratom to anyone under 18. It sets no 7-OH cap, label rule, testing rule or seller license, so obligations come mostly from federal food law and local codes.
Cities are the pressure point
Rockford moved a 7-OH ban through committee in November 2025, and Winnetka and Monticello were reported to be moving too. We could not confirm the final outcomes, so we ask for the ship-to address before quoting.
Bills that would reset the rules
HB 1303 and HB 4737 would raise the age to 21 and add product and label rules, and both sit in the House Rules Committee. Neither has passed. A LAPPA summary also lists a Senate number, SB 1183, whose status we did not confirm.
Federal derivatives are off the table
Mitragynine pseudoindoxyl, MGM-15 and MGM-16 became federal Schedule I substances on August 26, 2026. We do not supply them to Illinois or anywhere else.
Labels and records for Illinois
What the statute asks for on a package, and the records that let you stand behind it.
No state label standard
Illinois has no kratom label rule today. Keep product names, net quantity and ingredient statements accurate, and leave out health claims that general food law would treat as misbranding.
Paper a town inspector can read
The simplest proof of what is in a product is a lot-level lab report that you can hand over on the spot. Keep it with the invoice for each delivery, filed by lot.
What changed and what to watch
- January 1, 2015
The Kratom Control Act (P.A. 98-981) took effect, banning sale to and possession by anyone under 18.
- November 2025
A Rockford proposal to ban 7-OH products cleared the Code and Regulation Committee 3-2, with a council vote set for November 17. The final result was not confirmed.
- August 26, 2026
DEA temporarily placed mitragynine pseudoindoxyl, MGM-15 and MGM-16 in Schedule I. We do not supply these compounds.
- October 14, 2026
DEA published a notice of intent on 7-OH and mitragynine pseudoindoxyl. An order cannot issue before about November 13, 2026.
Local rules inside Illinois
Rockford. A proposal to ban 7-OH products cleared committee 3-2 in November 2025, with a council vote set for November 17. The outcome was not confirmed, so confirm any Rockford address with us before ordering.
Winnetka. Reported to have moved forward on 7-OH restrictions in 2025. Details were not confirmed.
Monticello. Reported to have moved forward on 7-OH restrictions in 2025. Details were not confirmed. Other Illinois towns were not checked in depth, which is why we review every ship-to address.
Illinois compared with nearby states
Missouri
No state statute and no age limit, but the Attorney General enforces consumer-protection law against 7-OH sellers, and Kansas City sets 21+ and a retail license.
Minnesota
A state age limit that is higher than Illinois: 21 since August 1, 2026, with sales to under-21s a gross misdemeanor.
Michigan
No state law yet, but ban bill HB 5537 passed the House and sits in the Senate, so Michigan orders are staged around it.
Bulk kratom in Illinois FAQ
Does Kratom. One ship wholesale kratom to Illinois?
Yes, to business buyers. Orders ship direct from US manufacturers after we review the Illinois ship-to address against state law and the local rules we know about.
Is kratom legal to sell in Illinois?
Yes, for adults. The Kratom Control Act (720 ILCS 642) only bars sales to and possession by people under 18; it sets no product standards.
Which kratom formats can an Illinois store order?
We quote leaf powder, crushed leaf, capsules, extracts, gummies and shots. The state sets no format limits, but towns can, so each address is checked.
Does an Illinois retailer need lab reports?
Illinois does not require testing. A lot report is still the simplest way to show a buyer or inspector what is in a product, and we can provide the report for the lot you ordered.
Why does Kratom. One use 21 when Illinois says 18?
The Kratom Control Act sets 18. We sell to adults 21 and over only, which keeps one rule across the states we serve and matches the age bills pending in Springfield.
Can I have an order delivered to Rockford, Winnetka or Monticello?
Those towns have moved on 7-OH, and we could not confirm the final rules. Tell us the address and we will review it before quoting.
Could Illinois kratom law change soon?
Possibly. HB 1303 and HB 4737 are in the House Rules Committee and could move before the 104th General Assembly ends in early January 2027. Neither has passed.
