Margin and Pricing Calculator
The Kratom. One margin calculator prices a branded product line. Enter your landed cost per unit and the margin you want. It returns your wholesale price (cost divided by one minus the margin), a suggested retail price, your profit per unit and the retailer margin at that price. Add the units in the run and any one-time costs to see revenue, run profit and the number of units needed to break even.

How it works
How the margin calculator works
| Step | Formula |
|---|---|
| 1. Wholesale price | Landed cost / (1 – margin %) |
| 2. Profit per unit | Wholesale price – landed cost |
| 3. Markup on cost | Profit per unit / landed cost |
| 4. Suggested retail | Wholesale price x retail multiplier |
| 5. Break-even units | One-time costs / profit per unit, rounded up |
Worked example
a $4.00 landed cost at a 40% margin gives a $6.67 wholesale price and $2.67 profit per unit, a 66.7% markup. At a 2x multiplier the suggested retail is $13.33, so the retailer earns a 50% margin. With $2,000 of one-time costs you break even at 750 units.

Margin Calculator FAQ
Margin or markup?
Margin is profit as a share of the selling price. Markup is profit as a share of cost. The results show both so you can compare quotes on the same basis.
Why a 2x retail multiplier?
Many retailers price at roughly double wholesale, so it is a sensible starting point. Change the multiplier to match your channel.
What counts as a one-time cost?
Label design, plates, samples, testing or set-up fees that you pay once and want to recover through sales.
Is the retail price a recommendation?
No. It is arithmetic from the multiplier you choose. Set retail prices according to your market and local rules.
